It has been a core principle of the project to donate a portion of the money raised to charities which deal with the legacies of conflict: Not only legacies effecting those who served but also charities who deal with the legacies civilians encounter.
Whilst we ourselves are not a charity, we’ve decided to support a number of charities close to our hearts including The Halo Trust and Bravehound.
The Halo Trust removes weapon stockpiles and landmines from modern day war zones. The charity returns former war zones to the farmer and provides safe spaces for children to play where there was once only danger. This is one of the legacies we wanted this project to have.
Bravehound is a Scottish charity that supports former servicemen, women and their families. They provide training and dogs to support veterans who may have post-traumatic stress, mental health issues and physical injury.
