The piece will be created using wet soil. Gradually as the mud dries, cracks slowly begin to appear over a period of weeks and widen to form the silhouettes of a squad of soldiers returning from battle. Deep within the piece millions of poppy seeds representing all those who served will lay un-germinated. When the art work is decommissioned and broken up the broken segments will be sent to various memorial gardens and the seeds and soil planted together. Only then will the seeds germinate, allowing the legacy of the piece to continue in another form indefinitely.
